![]() The one thing I do find a use to and that I didn't grind much are heavy cruisers. On the same fashion I can understand why people'd try to build Yamato, for the prestige and symbol and stuff, but sortie her ? Or Nagato ? Honestly I don't see the point, fast battleships like the Kongo class and Littorio do the job just fine when firepower's needed. I mean I don't see why i'd want Taiho and Shoukaku where I have a bunch of efficient CVLs. I wonder if it's actually more common for the average player to chase and grind big heavy ships. ![]() But back when I grinded I used to do the contrary and attempt to punch through a maximum of the maps with light forces, training high level light cruisers and destroyers and keeping my number of capital ships to a minimum - focusing on lighter ones too, such as fast battleships and light carriers. Somehow the little part of my little amount of friends who play kancolle are all panicky whenever torpedo squadrons are involved for they usually build and train heavy battleships and aircraft carriers more. You will probably find at some point that you will need to have a decent complement of DDs for certain maps or branching routes.
